o2 question

i installed headers on my car and they did not come with a bung for my o2 sensor. i really need to get it back in before i start daily driving my car. i have to make it go down into the y pipe. my question is can i cut the wire and splice another wire into it? the wire on it is wayyyy too short to go even to the bottom of the header. please help

try taking the wire out of the plastic sleeve that houses the oil pressure and temp sensor wires and it should reach the y pipe. then just pick up some small plastic insulation they sell at pep boys to protect the wire. also are you welding in the bung yourself? good luck!
