I scored this for $300.00 ...good deal? Im going to have to have it fabbed to fit my thirdgen but I hear its not that hard. its in like new condition....im happy

 

Looks pretty freaking monstrous. Good score. I always hear how good the borla sounds but I've never heard one personally. If possible, get a sound clip before and after install

 

LOL..there is no before....this in on a new motor....but when it was a 305 I had the 1 5/8 SLP tri-Y's with no CAT and going into an 80 series flowmaster and it sounded nice but not to loud unless I got on it....FLOWS have a certain sound and you can always tell a FLOW from anything else even on an LS1 like my buddy's got.

 

Soooooo..... what purpose is the muffler if its only hooked to one pipe while the other is directly open

Just to shut it up a bit for cruising while still making one hell of a racket @ WOT

 

even when its wide open some of the exhaust still goes thru the muffler..thats what BORLA told me....but yeah its my understanding that when you start adding plates to it more of the exhaust goes thru the muffler to quiet it down a bit..but its still loud as hell. ..
