My cousin has a 3" magnaflow cat that I was thinking about putting on my Camaro (350 TBI, custon prom, slp headers, dual snorkel). Part number is 94019. Is this a "high flow" cat? Is it a 3 way cat? Also, it has an air tube. My air system is not functional, but I need a cat. Can I run this cat and plug the air tube and still get many years of good service out of it?

I have that cat on my car right now. From what i understand, you can weld the air tube shut (as the exhaust guy did to mine) and that will solve the problem. Also, the converter is stainless and comes with a pretty nice warranty so i would assume based on that and the known quality of magnaflow products that you can expect it to have a long life.

How does your car sound? I'm looking for a hard deep rumble. I'm planning on going full 3" with that cat, and a Flowmaster Super 40 series dumping behind the rear bumper. I also have SLP headers. Probably about the same or a bit less power as your LB9 since I have L05 heads and cam.

Personally I think it sounds great, however I will be looking to add Hooker 2055's down the road. I can't say exactly how the cat effected the sound, because I'm sure the muffler and larger Intermediate pipes had a lot to do with the sound but the car sounds downright badass! It's not loud at all at idle, but when you're behind the car it sounds really deep and refined. I can rev it in neutral and theres no popping or anything (probably due to the hi flow cat). When driving in the car, you hear the rumble, but its not obtrusive at all. I honestly couldn't tell you how the car sounded driving by because I'm the only one whose driven it. Also, I did a tunnel run in it and it sounded absolutely sick at WOT.

Just remember that on our cars the sound will vary a lot more based on the muffler. I'm sure your car with a 40 series would be a lot more aggressive and louder than mine...
