There is a reserve on ebay, but I called and they are asking only $12,995 for it.

If I did not have one, I might be inclined to pluck this one up being so unusual.

For a Formula 350 Vert, I think this is a reasonable asking price, considering how rare they are 1 of 43. It is on the list, it is number 9 of the known 43 Convertibles out there...

Looks very nice. May go up there just to see it. Off topic but Don Sitts does get some nice older cars in their inventory. They are a big sponser of the "Riverfront" cruise held every Monday thru the end of September. Been there a few times with a couple of the cars.

Are you talking about the black pieces that are running under the doors? If so, those are the subframe connectors that ASC installed. On basically any other model they are covered by the ground effects.

THere is a trim piece that covers the rivets that hold the SFC to the bottom of the car... You get used to it...

It is actually almost exactly like the early Sunbird and the Cavalier Convertibles if you have seen one of those, chances are they had the exposed SFC.

Very nice example, I see different exhaust, alt, serp belt, aftermarket car alarm,tires and the throttle body cover. Other than those small things, it looks great.

My car is by no means a beauty... the sides are fine but the FL baked the top of the car to a crisp and the paint on the trunk, tonneau, spoiler and caps are just fried, the hood could use some love too... On the one hand I want to have it painted to look nice, but on the other it is still all original paint... Such a dilemma.

It's nice to have original paint. If it's still there.


Once it's burnt off, get it repainted. Just make sure you take plenty of "before" pictures in case you ever sell it. Fresh paint might scare off a prospective buyer.

Honestly I have no plans to sell it..... More honestly, in 2007 I repainted my 87 (was not on purpose) I should have put my efforts in my convertible...

On topic of the car at hand, it only got to $7,100... Personally Really that would be a steal but it is probably due to the time of year... I would be interested to see what it did in the Spring.

Yes it was me. I never did buy one. I did some things to my GN and then found this vert. I will probably look for a TTA in the spring.

those are not the original door locks for that year...
correct me if I am wrong but they should be similar to mine as I dont think that part was different between the GTA and other models.

The big bulky rectangles were used to atleast 89 on the base interior cars.

Door panel History for the Firebird.
82-89 Base interior (Rectangular escutcheon )
87 only - Custom interior - Molded type interior door panel with pointed escutcheon.
87-89 Deluxe interior Molded "Ultima" GTA style with the "Deluxe" seats with pointed escutcheon
88-89 - Custom interior (Rectangular escutcheon )
90-92 All Firebirds got the same door panels. The door pulls changed, the groove was removed, the door handle escutcheon was the same as the 87-89 Ultima molded panels.

interestingly only 1987 you could get the molded door panels in the Base Firebird or Formula.
