I-ROC rear bumper piece (exhaust related)
Not sure if this should be in this forum or the Body forum. I'll leave that up to the Moderators if I'm incorrect to place it here in Exhaust.
I'm going to be taking my '84 Sport Coupe in to have a custom exhaust made. The only problem is I am eventually going to be finishing the I-ROC body conversion which would include the rear bumper piece obviously. The only problem is, I don't know the vertical measurement of the bumper piece from corner of the bumper to it's lowest point. I want to have the exhaust made now, while the Sport Coupe bumper is still on, but I want the tail pipes to still clear the I-ROC bumper when it is installed. I'm not sure how to go about this the right way so that there aren't problems down the road. Any help? I suppose the best assistance would be if someone could measure their own I-ROC bumper from the part where it turns down to the "lip" of the bumper.

if your just doing a strait pipe tailpipes from the muffler to the tip, i would just clamp them on for now and when the new bumper is done just loosen them up and re adjust the tail pipes.

Maybe you should just do a little something custom. Fit the exhaust tips on now but when you put the GFX on just make semi circular provisions for the exhaust tips. IMO it looks better. Give the tips a sense of "belonging" there.

Yeah, that does look good now that I see a picture of it. So you think I should just run them out the back and when the gfx are installed make the cutouts then? Maybe I'll combine both of your ideas and clamp them on for now just in case there is clearance issues. I don't want to have to remove a huge portion of the plastic gfx. Thanks for the suggestions.
