flowmaster 40 series

so in search of a new thing im thinking of changing my exhaust, i have edelbrock shorties and im looking to change the muffler and tips. and i want a deep sound you know something that roars that growls, that sounds intimidating, and i figured flowmaster can gimme that sound cuz ive heard good things, and im wondering has anyone else put 40 series flowmasters in their car?

Re: flowmaster 40 series

ive had both as well.
you cant mistake the 40 series.
makes the motor sound more powerful than it is.
the resonance in cab is quite a bit difference from the 40 to the 50 series too.
quiet is my game. i got rid of those long ago.

Re: flowmaster 40 series

Cabin resonance gets a little tiresome.

Re: flowmaster 40 series

Ive got 2.5 inch piping with a high flow cat into a 40 series. Sounds really mean. It was on the car when i bought it and im pretty happy with it.

Re: flowmaster 40 series

I've got an L05 with 1-3/4 headers, full 3" exhaust, cat, and a Flowmaster Super 40 single exit dumping behind the bumper. All I can say is it sounds real beefy. Its loud and at low RPM you feel it rumble more than you hear it rumble. It resonates on the inside quite a bit which is why I'm thinking about switching to a Magnaflow or something else. I've been told my car sounds like a "Huge lifted 70s chevy truck" when I get on it, if that means anything to you. I am constantly setting off car alarms.

NIIIIICEE I have a magnaflow and its not that loud, or maybe that only because theres not much cabin resonanace. but seting off alarms? thats pretty good stuff. but must look weird with no tips coming out back, cuz i know that super 40 and super 44 has single exit.
