longtubes to single 3" catback?

I know there are people who have done it...who here has it and what are your horsepower numbers or Et's? I am thinking of just having a custom exhaust shoping fabbing up a custom y pipe instead of doing true duals....true duals are expensive!

a custom fabbed y-pipe will cost about the same as true duals. it really just depends on what you want to do with the car. i built a y-pipe for ssean92's ride and it turned out really great, but he hasn't gotten the car to the track yet. fabrication is fabrication, and if you want a nice piece, it'll be about the same as duals cost wise.

are you saying I might be better off doing the true duals and selling off my magnaflow catback to get some $ back in my pocket?

Re: longtubes to single 3" catback?

for your 385 build, it may be beneficial to go true duals...that is what i'm considering at the moment...else it will be a single 4 inch, making a y pipe like the mufflex one.

either way a single 3inch should hurt that motors flow.... some ppl may say otherwise but from what i have been seeing, 3inch single is only adequate for mild 350's..up to 375 crank hp or so.
