Mufflex 4" Pipe over the axle?

I searched and couldn't find an explanation on what you guys have done where the 4" mufflex pipe comes over the panhard / axle. Do you keep the 2heat sheilds there in that , work them over (hammering time!), or remove the one heat sheild and leave the one protecting the gas tank? I'm getting ready to install and test fit the pipe and it hits the panhard and heatsheilds both. I can only imagine what would happen to that pipe the first time my suspension loads up....CRUNCH!

Yeah it must be pretty tight with the 4" I have the 3.5" and it just does fit. I think i had to push the heat sheild up some as well.

Re: Mufflex 4" Pipe over the axle?

Thanks...I actually changed my search terms and found exactly what I was looking for. I searched for just "heat shields" and found answers that people use their heat sheilds and the mufflex 4" system. I'll just have to "massage" the shields a little.
