ball socket flange headers...flat flange ypipe?
I just got a set of hedmann headers with the ypipe..both in great condition for a great deal..problem is headers are#68479 bs flange and seems that the ypipe is 17470 flat flange..is there anything I can do besides welding new flanges to the ypipe...
I really dont want to do that..

That's pretty much how mine is.

I havent had any problems with it. Got duals with flat flanges, and I just got em tightened up to the header. I dont know that it seals perfectly, but it seems to seal fine. I haven't had any problems with it.
I dont know if you'd have fitment issues with the y-pipe in the car, though. I dont know if it would sit back an inch farther or something. But you should still be able to bolt it up fine.

I went to a local speed shop yesterday and the guy told me that someone had come out with an adapter for that..youd think hedman but nope the guy I talked to was a jerk, felt like Iwas getting rushed off the phone..and I should give him a call later so he could trace down who it was. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

I know Dr. Gas makes alot of different stuff, just not sure if they have what you need.
But definately give the site a browse - you might find something useful there.

keep the ball sockets on the headers.
miles better than the standard collector flanges.
id weld some up on the y pipe.
you can pick them up from napa i think. most of their stuff they have in the catalog is dynamax, and reasonably priced.
good luck.

Flowmaster sells ball flange kits of different sizes. They are much better quality and have larger openings than the header ball flanges. I personally would cut both the flat flanges and the header ball flanges off and replace w/ the flowmaster matched sets.
