lookin for new exhuast. suggestions?
i've recently purchased a 3.1L bird in need of a decent exhaust. I'd like close to a v8 sound even though im aware it isnt totally possible with the lil v6. Anybody have suggestions on cat-back kits or should i just take it up the street to Mad Hatter who I know does good work & let them deal with it?

A V8 sound requires a V8 engine. Trying to duplicate V8 exhaust on a V6 just makes it sound ratty.
I keep hearing Dynamax mufflers/systems sound best on a V6.

A cheap way of doing it will take the cat out, and put a cat back exhaust on it. It will make a little more noise, but not quite the quality of a V8. sorry buddy

Whatever you do, don't use a flowmaster on the V6. That is potentially the worst sounding setup ever. It sounds okay at lower rpms but as soon as you start moving down the road it sounds terrible. I have heard 3800's and 3100's w/ the flowmaster on it and they just screamed "V6 trying to be V8, race me and you will win". The tone is just not right.
