Edelbrock headers #6874, and cat back #5673
Hello All, i currently have the edelbrock headers #6874 with the cat back system #5673 3" stainless on my 305 carb motor. now i'm in the middle of building a 383 stroker motor to put in my 85 z28. just wondering shold i pick up a new set of headers or send these out to get ceramic coated? the one fall is that the header on the driver side has this sleeve of some sort? not sure what it is. would the 2055 headers bolt up to the edelbrock y pipe? or do they come with there own?

The 2055's come with there own y pipe and is considered the best aftermarket y pipe out there. The only thing I dont like about the 2055's is the chocked down ball and socket flange.

The part you circled is the heat stove for the air cleaner thermovac system. I just stick the thermovac hose down between the header tubes.
My suggestion for the 2055 collector ball opening is to fit up the headers and y-pipe, marking the collector ball so you can see where the y-pipe mates to it (it probably won't be exactly centered on the ball, and probably not centered on both collector *****). Then open up the collector ball to match the down-pipe openings of the y-pipe.
