single passenger side rear exit?

I am getting ready to build a 355 for my 86 bird. My cam is a comp with 282 duration. I have heard the sound of loud mouths and the chambered mufflers and I love the sound of both. I did a search but could not find what I was looking for. I was thinking about running 3" from a y-pipe back and putting a loud mouth or stainless works chambered muffler then running 3" over the axle and tucking the pipe up so that it is hidden on the passenger side. Sort of like it only had the factory passenger side tail pipe but hidden a 3" turned down slightly. That way there is no muffler showing in the back or tail pipes showing. What do you guys think?

Re: single passenger side rear exit?

its probably going to be pretty damn loud.

you can always run a single driverside exit with a muffler in the stock location then pain it all hi-temp black, it will hide that way too.

Yeah that was one of the things that I was wondering about, was if it would be louder with a single 3" that say the loud mouth set ups with the two 2.5 tail pipes. Either way they are a single inlet/outlet muffler.

Re: single passenger side rear exit?

I just did a single 3"driver side exit tailpipe w/ a Pypes Violater muffler. It is very loud when you step on the gas but just a little bit louder than stock with a deep tone to it at idle. I should have picked a different muffler because it has a crackly sound to it. It is tucked up nice and looks stock. I think the loud mouth would probably be very loud . If you put a Borla on it you will probably get the sound you are looking for. I had a single 3" exhaust on a 90' Suburban with a Borla Race muffler I got for free and it sounded awesome. All I had was Edelbrock shorty headers on it and it was very loud w/o the crackly sound. Here is pics of what I just did:
