Full exhaust system. Help/opinions?
Looking at doing a completely new exhaust system.
My car is a 85 z28 LG4 305 4bbl carb.
Headers: http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/68713/10002/-1
Cat: http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/94019CA/10002/-1
Cat Back: http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/16829/10002/-1
My questions are, is all this compatible? And if not, what isnt?
I noticed the y pipe to cat is 2.25, but the cat inlet is 3. So i know the cat will fit the exhaust, but how will the y pipe adapt to the cat?
Basically, what will need to be done to make this system fit, or what is changeable to make it fit with just bolting on.
Wanting to keep the magnaflow cat-back, willing to change the cat and maybe headers.

Not really.
Try these headers, http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/68722/10002/-1 , or even better http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku , and this cat http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku .

I noticed those said beginning year 1986. Will there be any fitment issues with them going on an 85?

Not if you are replacing everything with '86-'90 TPI single cat application stuff. The only issue is the driver's side A.I.R. check valve fitting faces to the rear instead of to the front like on your car.

Thanks abunch man.
One last question. I was looking to spend a little less on cat's. What would you recommend in the $100 range?

Unless you have free access to cutting, welding, and exhaust pipe supplies, the direct fit is the cheapest way to go.

how does this sound?(its for a 91 cam rs vert) true dual exaust with two XR-1® Sportsman Racing round 3"inlet/outlet borla Mufflers and Single Round Angle-Cut Intercooled borla tips. is that a good combo? i dont know what headers or cats to add though, can any body help me out. and how hard is it to do true dual on a third gen ?
