dynomax race bullet muffler

hey guys, i have a stock trans am at the moment and i wanna do something about the exhaust. I was wondering how loud would it be if i used a dynomax bullet muffler that let out under the car and how would it sound compared to a full catback setup? Thanks...

Those "mufflers" are basicly almost as loud as running no muffler at all. Go with a nice catback setup for a better sound plus you'll be able to carry on a normal conversation in the car. I run dual 3 inch with those bullet mufflers dumping under the car and want to re-do everything.

Re: dynomax race bullet muffler

On my formula for a while I ran a bullet in place of the cat and ran out to the back in a stock dual tail set-up minus muffler, sounded GREAT! Esp on my TPI, I actually went to this set-up after removing the 80 series flowmaster.

well would this setup still be to loud if i have the stock manifolds, y pipe, and cat? and the reason i was thinking of this setup was bcause it would save me a lot of money compared to a full setup cause replaced my motor... thanks

if you just want louder, it will work and be plenty loud. However it will not be a good tone and will ad little real performance gains.

as the old saying goes:

Good is not cheap, cheap is not good.

Re: dynomax race bullet muffler

I would just throw you a Jegs cat back 3" system on there with a flowmaster. Its a pretty cheap way Compared to flowmaster or borla or dynomax cat backs.

On my 79 Malibu Race car. I had 3" Flowmasters on it. Sounded great performed great. I wanted to check the bullets out I bought 2 3" bullets and had a way better sound and picked up a little over 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile.

I prefer the bullets because you get a little more HP gain, Better 1/4 Mile time, and they are small enough you dont have to worry about them dragging the ground like the under the car exit flowmasters.

But with the stock 305 id go the cat back
