I have the hedman matching shorty headers and ypipe which has inlets of 2.25" and the single outlet is 2.5". My motor has a heavy heavy amount of mods and definately needs to breathe some more. My question is can i possibly fit up the 2055 hooker ypipe to my headers by just changing flanges, would it be close enough? or what should i do for a bigger ypipe because i plan on going a full 3" from the y back.

Where would you get a 2055 y-pipe? Regardless, it wouldn't be close enough to bother ruining a good 2055 y-pipe.

Get a Flowmaster "Y" with a 3" outlet, cut off the Hedman "Y", weld in the Flowmaster.

 

You cannot mix-and-match headers, y-pipes, or manifolds from different companies or stock GM. They are all complete sets and will not bolt up to each other.

 

five7 that was the plan but the 2.25" is way too small for my blown 350 so that definately needs to be bigger to start.

 

Yeah im in the same boat as you viper sorry bout the double thread mods but you can get the hooker y pipe separate the #16767HKR IDK if it the same pipe or size as the the one that comes with the hooker headers 2055 but it sure looks the same

What i might do is just order the hooker y pipe from a speed shop after i put on the hedman shorties see if it will fit them with little modification (it only looks like the drivers side y pipe won't line up) if it's way off and both don't fit i'll just return it

Is the hedman y pipe 2 1/4 ID or 2 1/4 OD

 

id assume the hedman is 2.25" ID. I figure since 2.25" pipe x 2 ~ a 3" pipe flow so im going to just get the y end modded to a 3" pipe and call it a day.
