Re: help plz

you have to have a cat, irregardless of whether or not you have emissions testing, its required by federal law.

If your friends are getting hassled about modifying their exhaust, why are you doing it? are you a glutton for punishment?

For a stock 305tbi, 2.25 would be more than enough, though a good 3" single would fit a lot better, and bolt on.

Re: help plz

well, it doesnt matter what people are telling you, you cant legally just lose the cat. and running duals on the car is modifying the exhaust. Duals are just a realy PITA to run on these cars anyway, it can be done, but the headache is not really worth it. If you want a loud car, you can use a 3" catback and use a straight through bullet muffler, or some other kind of racing muffler that has a straight through design. You will see no increase in performance unless you also swap out the factory manifolds as well, and use a good y-pipe.

the cat "going" is a good excuse to replace it with a good aftermarket hi flowing cat, you will not sacrifice much power, and you will still be legal.
