Hooker Muffler
Anybody have the Hooker Muffler on their car? Do you like it? Does it send too much noise into the car while driving?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Hooker Muffler
IF your looking to be noisy the aerochamber isnt' for you. I have the aero on my car and i love it, it's a great muffler for the street it flows better than 98% of other aftermarket mufflers and it does it without sounding trashy(thats' right i'm saying loud cars sound trashy to me). It has a noticeable idle and doesn't resonate goin down the highway. One thing though it is also probably the heaviest muffler on the market(about 20lbs).

Humm, I don't recall which muffler came with my Hooker catback; it's quiet at idle and cruising speed (you can actually carry on a conversation or listen to music). At WOT, however, it was a nasty growl that I like very much.

Hooker Aerochambers are some of the best mufflers on the market. Although they are tame at idle and cruising vs most others they can growl at WOT. You won't be dissapointed that's for sure!

Re: Hooker Muffler
I know I have the Hooker muffler but not sure what model it is. The reason for this post is that I get a vibration inside the car at 3500 rpm but it goes away at 4000, it seems to come from the rear. But I dont feel it in my seat or steering wheel. This vibration is also at any speed as long as its between 3500 and 4000. I reved the engine while stopped and it seems that the muffler get louder at those rpms. My drive shaft is new along with the joints.
I have my carpet out due to painting, and today I put a small door mat on the metal that is in the rear hatch area directly behind the back seat over the gas tank and muffler area. I took a small plastic hammer and just kinda tapped on the mat. The metal underneath vibrated........alot. I'm thinking the muffler is causing this metal to vibrate and this is my noise. I am also looking into putting Dynamat on the floor to help stop this.
So what do you think?............Could this be it?

I love the 3" Hooker system I put on my '83 Z28... so much so, actually, that I'll be getting the same setup for my '97 Z28 too. Sounds fantastic, without being obnoxious.

I have an Aerochamber on my car and I agree that it's a great muffler for the price. Smooth and mellow at idle and cruising but at WOT it's screams like a demon. I love mine
