NEED HELP

I just replaced the catalytic converter on my 1992 camaro rs and now it wont stay run. it will start but wont stay running and not drivable. Also when i started it it backfired and there were small flames underneath that went out quickly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance

Re: NEED HELP

so I take it, that it didn't do it before you installed the new converter? Did you put the cat in the right direction, and was it plugged before you put it on? This sounds kind of weird
