I need better heads but I have full 1.6 roller rockers, z28 springs and comp retainers. It runs pretty good... but I cant get rid of a ticking... everyone says it's normal for rollers... this being my first set, I am trying to get used to it. you should hear this thing full throttle. Track times will be coming in a week or two.

solid lifters tick, my rollers dont. not saying its not normal however. What about your heads, do you have the correct length pushrods for your valvetrain and if you need guideplates, do you have them?

Where are you from, I swear Ive seen your car driving around the Syracuse, NY area. If you dont want to throw it out there for public consumption, you can PM me.

On an exhaust note...you sure you don't just have a loose header gasket? Kudos for that BIG flat tappet cam

Re: My new cam... 280H comp

Not from NY, I live in Alabama but I am from Texas. Header gaskets are ok, heads dont need guide plates..... the slot keeps it in line, however being that the roller rocker arms are also self aligning on the valve tip I have wondered if the geometry is correct. I actually have chewed up a cam already in this thing because I HAD short slot rockers... oh well live and learn lol.... and that cam was used too. This is a brand new one.... it sure is fun!
