Curious if anyone has used Aftermarket headers/y pipe and put a E Cut out inplace of the Cat and ran stock exhaust

Any Disadvantage of this, I honestly see no reason why when the E cut out opens ( like running open exhaust), Wouldnt flow quite nicely, especially since it wouldnt be rescritive since it would go, Header-Y pipe- then straight from the Y pipe into a E cut out.

 

i know a few of the ls guys that do this, and you are right about the flow, gasses take the path of least resistance (like water or electricity) so it would probably work how you want it to. And you can look at the borla exhaust for the ls cars (maybe others, i'm not sure) that have the different sized orfices that can be installed in the y before the muffler, basically a cutout with a aftermarket muffler and a huge pricetag.
