new 3" with x pipe installation

Just got back my new exhaust and thought I'd share. I bought Jegs universal 3" x pipe kit, about $150. Then some Flowmaster knockoffs available locally but also on web, $35 a piece. Next the install...$125 from the best exhaust guy on the planet. I will upload some pix of the welds later. The Jegs kit is mandrel bent and we did not have to alter the bends, just cut to length. It's not for everyone, loud and a little low, but it's sweet as far as I'm concerned. My neighbors appreciate the headers finally capped on this 11 to 1, 383 stroker. 624 lift roller tends to make some noise.

Re: new 3" with x pipe installation

looks nice. be careful about carbon monoxide in the car with those mufflers right under the car. but i presume that you don't sit still very often unless the car is parked.

how much clearance do you have under the car? how about a side view of them?

Re: new 3" with x pipe installation

Here's a couple of other views including one from the side. That's a 2x4 next to it. Will be mostly track driven except for a couple fun Fridays.....OK I'm almost 50 but I'm not dead! Nothing more fun than pulling up next to a loud rice burner with a fart can.....well you get the picture.

Re: new 3" with x pipe installation

looks good. alil low tho... he coulda done alil better with tucking it up. i have more clearance with mine and it was lowered 1.7" i was running summit universal 3" xpipe with mandrel extensions, 3" headman header extensions, 3" force mufflers, and turndowns. i love how loud it is... sounds like a total beast next to my other 86 305 TA with edelbrock headers/ypipe and flowmaster catback

these cars with true duals sound 1000X better than any single setup ive seen

Re: new 3" with x pipe installation

Im thinking about running the same exhuast! are you using hooker 2210's? so the x-pipe cleared the cross memerber without using hedman s- bends? you just cut the x-pipe down and flanged it and bolted right up?
Thanks, Jerrod

Re: new 3" with x pipe installation

Doesnt look too much lower than my old single setup i ran. Heck you may have more clearance than me. Is the car lowered at all?

Looks good but atleast try to run some pipes to the sides of the car abit more to dump it out the wheels. maybe twist the turndown to turn out abit more than 45 degrees. exhaust echoing off the ground makes it very loud inside

11 to 1 383's with big cams are hard to quiet down
