quick cat. question
i didnt even want to make a new thread because this seems like a dumb question but i didnt wanna order the wrong cat.
will a stock cat. fit onto a flowmaster american thunder cat. back system w/ 3" pipes? the stock cat i have now fits the stock 2.25 exhuast (obviously) but the flowmaster says it fits the stock setup but it has 3" pipes runing right to the cat. that doesnt seem right to me. i need to order a new cat but idk which one to get now that i have 2.25 pipe on one side and 3" pipe on the other side. any advice?

Re: quick cat. question
The best solution would be to get a 3" in/out cat and have a muffler shop install an adapter that enlarges your stock 2.25" y-pipe into a 3" opening for the cat.

Re: quick cat. question
well i took it to 82-92 sepicalist (he actualy lives like two mins away from me. what r the odds???) and he said that i dont have 2.25 pipes coming from the headers, i actualy have a 3 inch pipe leading to the cat. so ill be fine w/ a 3 inch cat. i ordered a dynomax walker super converter off jegs for 140.00 (part number 289-15622) itll be here tomorrow and well see if it fits right. figers crossed!
