Did some searching and my head is gonna explode! Y-pipe,x-pipe,h-pipe, tuned length,resonator box, collector length...AHHHHHH! Maybe you guys can help me out. Engine is an all forged 383,AFR 195's 76cc Combustion chambers,XFI 280 cam 576/570, 280/288 advertised to make power from 2000-6000 RPM. Performer RPM with a Holley 750 DP mech. secondaries. About 10.5:1 compression. In the near future, this car will be getting a 100-200 shot of NO2. Doug's 1 3/4 LT's. Car is lowered with Eibach pro-kit. T-56 with a Skulte LT x-member. What type of exhaust would you guys recommend to get the most out of the set-up?

 

I just installed the hooker lt's and I been trying to figure it also! After doing some searching i bought a pair of hedman x tensions, a summit x pipe and 2 flowmasters and some turn downs to to dump it before the rear axle! My thinking is can install it at home because it wont need any bends, just maybe some trimming and welding! I know ground clearance might not be the greatest but its cheap and should flow good!

 

The hedman x-tensions (that have the S-bend) will do the trick and then an X or H pipe and the mufflers of your choice dumped before the rear. I have this setup on my 85 Sport coupe with summit brand turbo mufflers and it sounds and works great. In fact I have two brackets mounted to the muffler clamps and they bolt to my rear floor pans. I have to say the exhaust is tucked as close to possible to the floor and with unbolting at he headers and the rear floor pans, it comes down in one piece. But then again my car is not lowered. All of mine is bolt together with stainless muffler clamps. Took me about a day to mock up and install. Hope this helps.

 

I forgot to mention that if you want a factory style exhaust but larger diameter pipe for your hi-perf the link below might help. They have 4" intermediate pipes and y pipes to connect to long tube headers. They are pricey, though. Summit racing also has a y pipe to connect to long tube headers for stock style exhaust.

Go with the high dollar hooker if cost is no object. Personally I would get some decent long tube under chasis headers and a pair of these Dynatech Cats and get a muffler shop to build you some true duals all the way back.

I used a hanger like in the link below. I used two bolts on each hangar and bolted it to the rear floor pans just below where the rear seats bolt to the interior floor.
