Stock Y-pipe Modifications
I was looking through a Jegs magazine at the headers and found some shorties. they say that fabrication to the stock y-pipe is required to fit. I was wondering what things need to be done to the stock y-pipe to make these fit. Is it just a matter of replacing the 2-bolt stock flange with a 3-bolt flange? Sorry if this is a redundant question but I did a search and found nothing that really pertained to this. Thanks.

Something else to keep in mind,I am not sure what you need to do to your pipe but I just modified my stock y-pipe and didn't realize until after I cut it that it is a double walled pipe from the drivers side manifold under the oil pan to the junction with the other manifold pipe.

Re: Stock Y-pipe Modifications
what exactly is the difference between the stock y-pipe and a new one? Other than new metal and a three bolt flange. How much does it bottle it up, it looks like my Y-pipe is huge, so is a new one just a 1/4inch bigger or what?

Anyway, you might take a peek at the stickies at the top of the page for more info, if you haven't. And perhaps another member will pipe in.
