side pipe pics

does anyone have any pics of good looking side pipes on third gen? i have seen a couple of third gens with side pipes but they were either to short or stuck way out off the side of the car. i want to see some that run all the way from just behind the front tire to just in front of the rear tire. and are also tucked up tight to the body.

Re: side pipe pics

When I get my new clamps installed I'll try to take some pics of mine. It doesn't look nearly as good as the picture you posted, but it's not too bad for a weekend project.

Re: side pipe pics

I had a single side pipe for a while but got tired of the NOISE I still got it but it runs out the back center now. Let the person behind me listen to that racket

That rotten door has been changed.

I cut 2-3 in off the stock Y so it points straight down the side, and stuffed it up in there in the side to floor valley.

Mine was just painted with 99cent walmart stuff, the key is to paint it when its still hot, like instant cure and stick, dirt n grime don't matter.

Honestly, I think it's badass. It's not trying to live up to everyones expectation of a clean car. It's the Third Gen equivalent of this 240SX.

It's like most Rat Rods, only cheaper and slower.

Re: side pipe pics

1 MeanZ that picture is exactly one of the ones i was referring to in my first post. when i said "they were either to short or stuck way out off the side of the car." i agree with you man they look like **** in that pic. but if side pipes are done rite like on that purple car or Gumby's they can look good.

ShMaCk2004 your exhaust is cool but not what i was talking. that's a side exit exhaust not side pipe. still good lookin.

87bluebird--
it looks better than I thought!!
Last summer I was wondering out loud at my friend's shop & got laughed down a few notches!! LOL!!
" Sidepipes are for CORVETTES
& Vipers... NOT CHEVETTES & Camaros!!""
I thought that was kinda harsh!!!

What ever became of this one?......?
Mean looking profile-- have a head-on shot?

That car might be fast, but damn, all the turbo/intake/intercooler/exhaust stuff sticking out everywhere looks like a fat chick in a bikini; its all hangin' out. Boo. Oh yeah, and clean engine intake must not mean anything, either... no filters.

When your race life gets to where only tenths of a sec count, filters get in the way to go 0.01 sec faster........

Would side pipes like that be street legal? I live in Washington state, if that matters. Not talking about passing emissions as I don't have to, but like, visually, would cops pull you over for those?

Very nice. Did you put this on after the car was inspected? I notice it does not have a cat converter.

Most towns outside of big cities don't do emissions. Also, his car is very close to old enough to not do emissions anyway.

I cant belive nobody noticed the cool new front bumper support, you just screw a hole in the fender and bumper and bolt them together on the outside with a peice of metal! Works great!

i think they *could* look good if someone figured out a way to hide the pipes and mould the tips into the side ground effects. kinda in a "eleanor" kinda way.

I want to run duals like this, but I did not want to have to add a cat converter to each side. I maybe able to get away w/out cats as long as the state doesn't do the inspection. Maybe a small shop somewhere will do it. I would like to make it 3" diameter.

Nope, as long as colors aren't beaming out from under the car at night, and all lights/equipment meets DOT regulations, you wont get any tickets or violations. You might get pulled over and asked a few questions, by the muscle car lovin' cops. However, audibly you would probably be pulled over for those, and written a ticket, unless you could talk and/or rev your way out of it (thank god for muscle car lovin' police)

I can't believe the elitist, closed-minded, ignorant mentality of some people in this thread. Such as yourself.

Re: side pipe pics

*******

"The most common American usage, referring to the poor rural white Southerner, is probably derived from individuals having a red neck caused by working outdoors in the hot sun. A citation from 1893 provides a definition as "poorer inhabitants of the rural districts...men who work in the field, as a matter of course, generally have their skin burned red by the sun, and especially is this true of the back of their necks"

So now that we know the true definition of "*******" maybe we can stop using it as bigoted term.

Not likely until its not "PC" to be racist against white people.
And it is a racist derogatory term used to put down a select group of people just like the N word.

But long as it against white people, its funny. Hahahaha NOT.
