Is a cat-back system.....

all that will fit these cars or can I put other type systems on them somewhere else besides the back? If someone wanted sidepipes. Is it possible on these third gens?

Most anything is possible with enough time, ingenuity, and money.

Re: Is a cat-back system.....

Ok, let me try a different tact here. Is there anyone that owns a third gen done anything different than catbacks? I have long tubed headers and would like a semi rumble with exhaust exiting in a NASCAR style out the side. Would ground clearance be an issue or is there some ideas I could do with the system that others have done? I'm not stuck on one thing, just want something different than catback type set-up.

I have seen it been done before.. You can probably find it if you searched on here.. And also by googling it. From what I recall, one was an all out race car, and the other was a street car but did not have great ground clearance with the side exit exhaust.

well most fbody cars have a y pipe setup so what i did was throw a electronic exhaust cutout right behind the front passanger wheel, kinda where the cat was located.

ground clearance will be your problem. nascar cars dont go over speed bumps.

Re: Is a cat-back system.....

Well, I wasn't planning on lowering the car at all, plus I am putting subframe connectors on it as well. I bought a set of sidepipes for it at one time I thought that would look cool, but couldn't find a spot to attact them. I still like that if I could find some pics of those as well. Accutally, I know a guy around here with a forth gen with the exhaust in front of the rear wheels, but that is a drag car with bigger than stock diameter slicks.
