Y-pipe to muffler dump?

I recently changed the y-pipe on my 88ta, and dumped it to a single exhaust. The car sounds and runs fine, but are there any negatives to this set-up?

how do you mean negatives? If you went to a 1 inch piping then you will lose performance and economy.

there are FI s197 v6 stangs putting 300 RWHP out a ypipe to a single muffler/pipe with no issues.
