I have an 89 iroc-z 5.0 305ci single cat, with a completely stock exhaust. I want to invest in a full exhaust headers to tailpipes, I want loud with tone and as much horsepower that i can squeeze out of it as possible. I have been looking at the hooker headers cat back for $339 but i have heard that its not very aggressive sounding. I need a cat also in my state to pass inspection. So what headers, Y-pipe, cat, and cat back do you most recommend?

 

Headers: Hooker 2055HKR.

Cat: Direct-fit for '86-'90 TPI single cat application like the MagnaFlow 93441.

Cat-back: I'm not going to be much help here. You want loud, and I'm a function-over-form guy and prefer quiet.

 

Well I have already looked at those headers before and I don't have a smog pump any more so i have nothing to hook those little smog pipes to. I need just plain straight up headers with no emissions ****. And yeah I agree with the magnaflow cat, I've heard nothign but good stuff about them. And for the catback, what do you suggest for loud, and what do you suggest for performance?

 

just plug the smog pipes. those are the best non long tube headers and y pipe combo available. I have them and love them
