hard to install? sound weird?

well heres the story. one of my buddys just bought a 90 camaro RS with a 305 in it and it has the factory dual pipe setup. more of which it just splits at the rear of the car. well hes adding a catback system to his car and told me i can have his old setep since iv always fantasied about the look on my car. well would it be hard for the exhaust shop here in town to cut off my old single pipe and muffler, and weld in this new exhaust? would this sound ok on my 2.8? i hate the sound of the single exhaust but im also running factory muffler so that would explain. i love the sound of his. can i do this?

You probably like the sound of your friend's car because it has a V8. If his old exhaust is the factory set-up, it should sound ok. It shouldn't be too hard to get it installed. Only difference I can think of is some 90-92 cars had dual cats. So you might have to get a small section of pipe bent(maybe).

i hope not. i just had the intermidiate pipe made and installed in november so all the pipeing is fresh from my cat.

My 91 when it had the factory 3.1 in it, it had the factory fake duals (1 pipe in, 2 out) and it was ok. You can look on youtube and find exhaust videos to figure out what it might sound like.

Re: hard to install? sound weird?

You could just buy a new muffler that has the dual outlets, and add the second exhaust tip - why waste muffler shop money on someone else's junk? $150 should easily get you new nicer sounding muffler, tips, and install - for that matter you can use muffler clamps and do it yourself for about $100.
