LS1/M6 people with dual exhaust....come on in!!

What are you guys using for exhaust routing? I have a Hawks crossmember and want to do a dual exhaust. Either gonna go with dynomax or magnaflow bullet mufflers with a x-pipe and dumped right before the rear.

Just curious how you guys routed your exhaust and if there was any "universal dual exhaust kit" you might of bought and started with?

I've seen a few from summit and was wondering if they will work. If you guys have pics please post so I can get an idea!!! Thanks

I don't have an LS, but I have ran true duals with an X pipe, and glass-pack / cherry bomb type mufflers, and long tube headers, I ran my 3" pipes down the tunnel just below the drive shaft. you may run into ground clearance issues when you run them out the side in front of the tires, if you just dump under the car you will get lots of interior noise.

Are you wanting duals for performance?

My LS1/4L60E car has a Hawks transmission crossmember, Hawks 1-7/8" x 2.5" headers, 2-1/2" custom Y, to a 3" I-pipe with 3" single in/out Magnaflow. No ground clearance issues, no exhaust banging on floorpan, etc. It's run a best of 12.03 @ 112 MPH.

So, are you wanting duals for performance?

Would that setup support a head/cam LS1 and ~420RWHP?

I'm wanting performance and a deep throaty sound. I've checked out a bunch of mufflers and seems like a good choice for my setup. I also think it would be better for clearance rather then trying to get 2 muffler tucked up in there.
I'm going with the summit x-pipe kit so I should be pretty cool

I believe so, cause I'm hoping to be around that range lol.

Well this is how my setup will somewhat look like. I'll have vbands on the collectors to make it easier to remove when needed. I'm sure the exhaust shop will trim and angle the pipes a bit to make it a tight fit that I want. It should sound decent for setup I hope
