Agreed.....I tore a muffler off earlier today leaving the gas station- not even on a speed bump. They really mean it when they say retorque the clamps after a few heat cycles 
Back on in 15 minutes. Only now, the side that tore off hangs lower than before. I'll be doing some adjusting this weekend I think.
