Info on Long tube Headers and the Oxygen sensors

Info on Long tube Headers and the Oxygen sensors
I can't read for hours looking for an answer. I am looking for any quick answers. I have a full stock set up and I am looking to install long tube headers and I am afraid all the ones I look at have no port for the O2 sensor. If this is removed will this mess anything up? What can be done about it? Please help. Thank you.

Install Dyno Dons shorty headers and Y pipe. That would b my suggestion.
If you still want to do long tubes, you will have to buy a 02 bung, drill a hole, weld it in on dr side header and buy/wire in a 02 sensor thats heated.
Then you get the joy of custom fabing your own Y pipe that you won't be happy about because it will scrape the ground along with the headers..
Since your stock, long tubes wont show enuff of a power increase over the shorties to b worth the trouble.

Thank you so much the ground clearance and the power is not a matter to me. I want the sound and look. I am getting rid of the y-pipe for true duals that exit the front of the rear tires. I did not know of the bung. Thank you so much I have a certified restoration mechanic that will drill and weld the bung in. That's all I needed to know.

Long tubes are an excellent idea in very specific circumstances. The "sound", "look", and "ground clearance doesn't matter to me" aren't those circumstances.
What do I consider good uses? The more of these criteria you meet the better, just one isnt enough:
1. Someone who has a welder and can easily fab up their own y-pipe
2. Someone who is $$$-challenged.
3. Someone who has a street/strip (emphasis on strip) car with big fat rear drag radials/slicks to increase the rear ride height and ALSO where ground clearance is truly not a concern aside from getting the car on and off a trailer
4. You're making over 450hp
5. You have a T5 or a T56 and can custom fab a y-pipe and crossmember to tuck just as high as the factory exhaust setup does
6. You can make a custom crossmember with an automatic car and can do some tricks with the pipes to tuck them up higher.
Go measure your crossmember's clearance from the ground, then subtract the diameter of pipe you're using. That is your BEST CASE SCENARIO for ground clearance, and it's just unacceptable for these cars if they're daily drivers or even weekend drivers in a lot of cases.
As for the O2 sensor generally you place it at the collector. Get a bung for it from summit and drill a hole and have it welded in. Then you have the joy of figuring out whether its getting hot enough or if you need a heated o2 sensor.
