A.I.R question, different from sticky..I think :)

ok, so my smog pump just went out again for the second time in 8 months. I removed the system and capped off the headers, now I am having some issues with my idle. I thought it might be a different issue but I think I have crossed all other avenues. So my question is, will the removal of the a.i.r. system cause idle issues?

If it will help the idle, i will put it back on, but I thought maybe you guys might have some solid info from previous experience. BTW, I am not worried about smog laws at the moment.

You wouldn't know if it was installed or not.
