Is header wrap worth the cost? and how much will i need to do 2 shorty headers?

 

Its not that expensive to begin with but depends on your useage if its worth it or not. It does cut down alittle on radiant heat and can also protect other items from heat. You can wrap anything. I suggest the DEI titanium wrap since its less irritating to work with. No tiny fiberglass hairs which spread all over and itch like crazy.

To figure length, just calculate the circumference of the primary tubes on your headers, and then measure the length of the tubes. Multiply circumference by length and add up each tube's value to get total distance. For headers i like working with the smaller 1" wide heat wraps. Goes on nice.

 

sometimes have to be careful about wrapping mild
steel headers;years ago i wrapped some cheap mild
steel headers and they only lasted a little over a year
before they overheated at the collector and burnt out.
Replaced those with SLP stainless headers-wrapped
those too-no burnout problems after years of use
