headers from diff. vehicles????
wondering if anyone has put headers for a diff. vehicle on thier third gen? on the local craigslist there are quite a few sbc headers from different vehicles(c-10s, cutlass, etc.). just wondering if anyone has made a non third gen specific header fit? thanks Mark

I wish it was that easy, even the ones made for our cars need some TLC to fit.

Ain't happenin... THINK.... if it was that easy, there WOULDN'T EVEN BE any such thing as "different" headers for these cars....

They have to be shaped to clear the k-member, and exit thru the narrow gaps between engine, frame, and steering shaft, unique to these cars. Y-pipe too.

Re: headers from diff. vehicles????
Id bet you could get some from a 70-81 camaro-bird that would be darn close. (they have the same style of lower control arms, motor placement on x member and the Xmember is basicaly a section from the old 70-81 front subframe)
I still wouldn't waste time trying tho.

No, not even close...
2nd gen F cars have upper control arms, not strut towers. Plus, the lower control arms are in a different place.
Yes I used to have both kinds of cars at the same time. Got rid of my last 2nd gen in about 86 or so though.
