magnaflow #12267
just solved my muffler problem with a magnaflow #12267. its made just for our cars with a 3 in pipe. it sounds great but not too loud. I highly recommend it
and I might add, it don't have that "tinny"rattle that blowmasters have

Pics? Sound clips?
I am thinking of running the Magnaflow muffler too, but I want a stock appearing exhaust tip. I don't wanna draw too much attention to the car, just make it sound better.

Re: magnaflow #12267
while researching mufflers .I found that magnaflow is the only mfgr. that makes a muffler with a 3in inlet to match the intermediate pipe found on our cars.walker says they do but it is only 2.5.and forget flow master UNLESS you happen to like the "clack, clack, clack sound they make. wait I meant "affordable" there are others like borla ect. but they are cost prohibitive

My buddy runs a custom exhaust shop. He does AMAZING work, even makes the 70's Vette exhaust look stock! He said he'll make me the tips and the intermediate pipe, unless I can buy it from Magnaflow?

I suppose you could have a int pipe made .don't know if magnaflow offers one .I found a pre bent 3in int pipe made for a TPI car. so I of course snagged it

I can name 4 brands off the top of my heads that make both crossflow and non-crossflow mufflers with 3" inlets and dual 2.5" outs.
In fact, if they made a cat-back for third or 4th gens you can bet there is a muffler that matches the factory style with a 3" inlet.

Magnaflow makes a cat-back system (for single cat cars) that includes the intermediate pipe - have one on my GTA, along with their replacement 3" cat and y-pipe.

But rather than me posting EVERY SINGLE MUFFLER that you can install on a F-body how about you just visit their pages and LOOK.
You know what you want, you want a 3" offset inlet with dual 2.5" outlets. Thats the standard thirdgen and 4th gen configuration.
Companies have these things called catalogs, and wouldn't you know it? They also pay people to man the the phones so you can call them up and ask.

Congratulations on the new exhaust, I'm sure it sounds great.
I have the American Thunder Flowmaster cat back and it not only has the 3in inlet but also two 3in outlets. It seems that many guys don't care for the Flowmaster sound but I believe the 80 series sounds a little different from car to car and I think mine also sounds great.
