SLP loud mouth
i just put a loud mouth 1 on my car. its a 350 zz4 cam, no cats, slp headers, 3in out the back.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyS8N...ature=youtu.be
its wicked loud, and drones bad at 70mph (~2300 rpm). i like it though, its a very poppy exhaust and backfires alot. i like it lol
let me know what you think or if you have any questions

Re: SLP loud mouth
Wow that sounds ridiculously loud haha. I just bought a used LM1 system with the dual/dual tips for $160 last night, and I have my reservations on putting it on my '92 Z. I've seen a few YouTube vids of the LM1 and LM2 systems on thirdgens, and honestly I think I'd like the LM2 resonator more - sounds a bit less raspy and a bit more throaty.
I remember years ago the muffler on my '84 Z28 rusted out and gave way, and I ran without a muffler for a few months until I sold it. Sounded a lot like your vid there OP. I'm sure putting the LM1 on my '92 will sound just the same. I think I'll do it anyway . . .

Re: SLP loud mouth
im pretty sure its louder than a strait pipe with the loudmouth on lol. its honestly way too loud. im gong to switch to a LM2 it should help since its actually a muffler not a resonator. the good thing is they are the same size and can be swapped out in minutes.

Re: SLP loud mouth
Just got done hooking up my LM1 system last night. Going to buy some different hangers to see what fits better than the stock ones but it's holding on well for right now.
Love the sound. I honestly think I will end up getting the LM2 muffler at some point just to tune the sound a little, but the decibel level is perfect for this little 305.

Re: SLP loud mouth
Couple quick vids wife and I took today. If you're running a stock 305 with manifolds and cats, the Loudmouth is just fine. No louder than a Flowmaster, but man that resonator makes it bassy! No drone at any RPM when cruising, and can still hold an 'inside voice' conversation.

Re: SLP loud mouth
If you have stock exhaust (which is 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" - can't remember), you'll need an adapter pipe to make the transition to 3". Then it's a matter of getting the correct hangers to hang the tailpipes. Some say it's as simple as swapping left hanger to right, and right to left, but that wasn't the case or me. You can find lots of hangers at an auto parts store that would let you hang it the way you want to.
If you have the car on a lift, might take you 30 minutes to cut the old exhaust pipe and hang the new one. Nothing to it.

Re: SLP loud mouth
My LM2 is extremely loud. Especially after doing the cam/head/intake swap. I got pulled over the first night driving it after putting the new cam/head/intake on for loud exhaust. $120 ticket, had court this past Weds about it. I just need to get a receipt saying it was "fixed" for it to get dismissed. I think the bigger 400ci combined with the cam makes it crazy loud. I never got in trouble with the LM2 before I did the engine upgrades.
I also have Dyno Don headers and the single cat Y-pipe without a cat installed so that adds to the loudness. It sure flows good though!

Re: SLP loud mouth
Cool vid. I just hate that stability "enhancement" YouTube offers to put on videos. Makes them look like a bad acid trip lol.
Anyway, love the sound of that! My wimpy LB9 with the LM1 doesn't sound nearly as ballsy as yours, but then again you have headers.
Any videos from in the cabin while driving? I can hold a normal conversation inside mine regardless of throttle position, but I do want it to be louder.

Here is an idle video of mine. Pardon the mess under the hood. I had just finished the engine work and hadn't cleaned up any wires or anything. This thing rumbles every window of our house. http://s975.photobucket.com/user/dab...02121.mp4.html
