True Duals

Im looking to put true duals on my 1989 Camaro RS. Is it possible? I have been told it is not because the driver side sits to low. Has anyone done true duals?

Re: True Duals

I have true duals on my '83 Z28. It's totally possibly and the only time I have clearance issues is with REALLY high speed bumps. I have true dual 2.5" pipes all the way from the longtube headers to the mufflers (which dump right before the rear axle.)

here are some pics

Re: True Duals

My pipes could be bent a little better to give even more room too.

Re: True Duals

It can be done but how hard or easy depends on your set up. I have a SBC with a TH 400 trans using an UMI torque arm crossmember. Not easy.

Manual transmissions and newer automatics using factory crossmembers. Easier.

With an auto, from everything I've read says its nigh impossible but doable with a manual. With an auto you need to route it so it follows the factory single tube routing.

Re: True Duals

I wouldn't say impossible, the pipes just can't be put in the same spot as with a manual. I have a TH350
