Hooker 2055 Leak at Y-pipe
Hello,
I finally got around to installing the Hooker 2055 with AIR pipes and I have a leak between the driver side header and Y-pipe. After struggling with it for awhile I took it to my shop's exhaust people and they said the y-pipe is not bent properly and is not reaching the header sufficiently.
I haven't read of anyone having this problem. The gap is very small and I am curious if I could use an exhaust donut to bridge the gap. I was hoping that I somehow installed it wrong. Suggestions?
I didn't have my camera on me. Next time I drive it to work I'll throw it on the lift and snap some.

You could try loosening all the bolts and tighten the leaking side first... maybe use some thicker aluminum gaskets. I ALWAYS use red gasket maker on headers, put it liberally on the gaskets at both ends... I have had header bolts almost fall out- and no header leaks this way.
The last leak I've had was when the aluminum actually deformed...

Aluminum deforming? Damn!
Just to be clear, my leak is from the y-pipe to header connection. You're suggesting that I use a thicker gasket at the header to head connection and that'll help realign my y-pipe to header connection?
I'm willing to give anything a try. I would have pictures, but one of my calipers has seized. So, now I have to fix that before I can drive it to work and lift it up for some pictures. I'm also going to attempt to fix the leak altogether.
