need a new cat
on my truck i think i blew the inside of the cat appart i was driving and i heard a loud boom pulled over looked at the motor couldent see anything or hear anything wierd so i kept driving but i noticed it got alot louder wondering if it could be the cattletic converter

yes its most likely the cat. but if you dont have an o2 sensor AFTER the cat, there is no need to replace it. In fact you will gain more hp and a little fuel mileage possibly.

Depends on the state he lives in. And honestly it makes no sense for these vehicles to need to be required to have an emissions test done. there are so few left its kinda of silly. Yet another way for your state to just get more money over pointless requirements.
