I would like to see some opinions from people who have tried long tube headers in the 3rd Gen. It is understandable that the 1 3/4 shorty may be as functional compared witha 1 5/8 long tube. But if you are working witha motor that produces more than 350 HP, A header with primary tubes of 28" or longer should be an advantage. Also curious if someone is using longs with a 5 speed, as there appears to be a potential problem with the clutch slave. Next problem, angle plug heads, which headers work easier. This car will be used for road racing, but will appear as street legel on the exterior. Somewhat like pro-touring ecept you only get 6 MPG. And emission testing isn't mandatory here.

Hooker longs tubes here. No problem with clearance on slave cylinder...at least on my car. I've heard of people having problems but there was plenty of room for mine. I run AFR heads w/ L98 plug style and mucho room on all plugs except #7. It's sorta close but no problem. My car is stock height, and ground clearance is really good. HTH!
