ZZ4 or HOTCAM With Stock Block Exhaust Video Clips
I am looking for a nice lope nothing to crazy. I was looking on YouTube and only found 1 video that I could really hear clearly for the ZZ4. The rest were bad quality videos. Maybe one or two for the HOTCAMS but most seemed to have various mods so really not good for comparison.
Im looking for clips of stock longblocks for these 2 different cams. Surely there are some proud guys here willing to do that.
Here is one I found on YouTube. Sounds good. Do you think its idling a little high?
and the other

i don't have a video any more, but the HOT cam kit with a set of vortecs that i had on the 355 in my 71 Nova had a silky smooth idle at 750 rpm, and a slight lope if i turned it down to 700 but it had 15" of vacuum at either speed. it would idle as low as 600, but started to get choppy and vacuum dropped way down.
i loved that engine: the stock idle and the slightly better than stock power off idle gave way to all hell breaking loose (but in a controlled and civilized manner, if that makes any sense??) at WFO when the tach hit 3500 and it pulled hard up past 7000..

Both of those cams are really old lobe designs and you can do much better for the money. I had the LT4 "hot" cam in my 355 and wasn't satisfied. As Novaderrik said it does idle nicely and just sounds like good exhaust, not a noticable cam lope. If you want it to have some sound you need a more aggressive cam lobe in a 224 intake at least for a 350 if not a 230 intake at 0.050. A 110 or 108 LCA would also give more of a lope. Unfortunately cams like those don't play well with TPI.
