Dyno Don's right for my car?
'83 Z-28 LG4 "H" model. I know these are the best, but I have also read that 1 3/4" primaries may kill low end on my 305 engine- and larger tubes may be more difficult to install-
I am not planning to try and get massive HP from the thing, just want to "wake it up" a little. BTW, the headers are currently on a '92 camaro... I think they fit my car, no?
Thanks for the help,
Bubba

Should work fine.
I have 1¾" SLPs on my 83 L69 (has better heads and cam, but was built to pass CA smog, which it easily did, although with other headers at that time). Did about 240 HP and 275 ft-lbs at the wheels when I dyno'ed it, can't recall the exact #s.
You'll be able to get rid of ALL the LG4 stuff, which is one of the things most responsible for keeping it slow: the tiny Y-pipe, restrictive cat, & equally tiny I-pipe.
Get a cat & cat-back for a later car to go with them. 3" dia.

Re: Dyno Don's right for my car?
I had them on my stock cammed LG4 and bottom end torque was fine even with the stock 2.73's. There was a noticeable difference in the powerband above 4K rpm where the primary diameter was more appropriate for the engine, right before the cam ran out of steam. If you plan to modify the engine or replace it with a larger one 1.75" primaries are alright. If not, go smaller. My LG wasn't intended to stay, had an edelbrock RPM AG and Holley carb on it too.

Compare the price of the (used) headers you may buy to the cost of some new headers that have a little smaller primary size. If the Dyno dons are the same or less in terms of price I would get those. 1 3/4" headers will be easier to resell then the smaller variety and if you want to drop a 350 vortec from a truck in down the road you will be already ahead with the dyno dons.
