My Exhaust System

Tho this setup might not sound optimal for some, the following is a run down of my exhaust system;

LG4 exhaust manifolds, SLP Y-PIPE, Gutted Cat, 3" exhaust pipe, and Flowmaster muffler w/dual 2 1/2" tail pipes.

The exhaust system mods made a larger @$$ dyno difference than heads and camb!!! Perhaps it's just the sound, but the little 305 really breathes better and runs cooler.

With such minor performance upgrades as heads, cam, and exhaust I am amazed by how well the Camaro sounds and runs?

Thanks again to those of you who steered me in the right direction.

Re: My Exhaust System

That's a damn fine looking y-pipe you have there.
What brand of valve cover gaskets are those?
I've never seen any with those ribs.
And you have the correct rocker arms for your application.
Rocker ball & cup design is nearly foolproof and is all you need.

Re: My Exhaust System

With the exception of a Fel-Pro 1 piece pan gasket, I used Cometics gaskets through out the heads cam project.....Cometics gaskets are viton rubber over a metal core.....not cheap, but zero leaks. Honestly the Cometics water pump gaskets were excellent.

A really great board member sold me that SLP Y-PIPE and I gave it some love with VHT high temp header paint!

I stayed with the traditional rocker arms with roller tips so that I wouldn't have stock valve cover issues.

Re: My Exhaust System

In regards to the valve cover gaskets, I forgot to add a feature worth mentioning. The bolt/stud holes are reinforced o-rings.
