Passing Emissions
I recently bought my first car, a 1982 Firebird with a Chevy 383 Stroker. I am working on this project car and am learning by myself so I don't know too much. The guy we bought it from had welded a crappy exhaust system that does not pass emissions which is necessary to get my car insured. Given the engine had been swapped does anyone have any idea what exhaust systems may fit the car and my engine and that keep my car still sounding great? Also, what other steps should I do to help my car pass emissions?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Passing Emissions
Sounds like he won't pass a visual because of a non-stock exhaust system?
Yes, state what you're failing and what state you're located in.

Re: Passing Emissions
I'm assuming your 383 is carbureted? You should be able to pass with just a decent quality catalytic converter and muffler. It doesn't take much to pass most state inspections and if your motor is running well you should have no issues.
