muffler in place of cat 3" exhaust

just like the title says im looking for a muffler that will fit in place of the cat. my exhaust is 3" from collector on back and it dumps right behind the passenger side door. it has no cats or muffler and would like to tone it down a little. I was looking at some borla xr1 mufflers but not sure about clearance.

the style I was looking at are the

40085 Round 15"X 5" overall length 20"
40943 Oval 12" X 4.5" X 7.88" overall length 17"
40944 Oval 16" X 4.5" X 7.88" overall length 21"
there all 3"

will any of these fit? I feel I would but not sure.

thank you all for your help.

Why not just put the muffler in the stock location? There is more room there, the further back in the exhaust you put it the less it hurts flow, and these cars are nose heavy anyway so any weight you can move back is a good thing.

OK, funding is tight, how does that change it?

You have more choices out back, and if you have the whole thing put together and you're just going to cut out a section and weld a muffler in...

If funding is tight then you can stick a cheap straight through muffler out back, your exhaust will flow more and you're not spending $160 on a borla.

Or you can take that same borla, stick it out back and your exhaust still flows more and everything costs you the same.

Whether they'll fit where the cat was depends on how much cutting and welding you want to do. I don't think the round one will fit without losing quite a bit of ground clearance.
