Cat bolts

Hey everyone, how do I get these stupid bolts off of my cat? I tried pb blast, heating then up with a torch, banging them with a hammer to loosen rust, but they just will not budge. Any advice? Thanks

Probably need more torch. In all likelihood, you'll just have to break them off

You were right, they needed more torch. Now I can't get the stupid thing off my car since IDK how to get the pipe put, been playing with it for 30 minutes, I unmounted the hanger but this midpipe won't come off. Any tips on how to get it out and the new one in? Looks like there's a cross member in the way

Re: Cat bolts

The pipe that goes over the axle? if you're re-using it you want to snake it out, but if you're trashing it, just cut it. did you remove it out of the muffler first? If you can't snake it, you may need to get the car higher in the air to give yourself more room to maneuver. Hard to know what issue you're having without being there, or pictures

Where in NJ are you? I am in the Trenton area

I'm over in Marlboro. I can't get the car high enough to get it out so I'm probably just going to cut it. And yeah I removed the muffler and tailpipes first. And with the new midpipe I'm probably just going to cut that too and put a band clamp on it.

Re: Cat bolts

If you drop the pan hard bar , and the PHB brace, should give you more room to work the pipes
