CA Smog Legal headers?

I have a '92 Camaro that I am restoring for my son. The current exhaust fell off a while back and the cars been parked for over a year. I want to put in a full exhaust system Header, Y-Pipe, Catalytic and Cat Back Exhaust on the car. Who makes CARB Headers and Y-Pipe? I think cat back is fairly straight forward, Need help on Header and Y-Pipe. Thanks.

Re: CA Smog Legal headers?

Check the user of this site Dyno Don. He builds headers, lives in OC.

Thank you, I will check his site.

I have found Hooker Headers 2055. Which claim to be 50 State, but when I looked at the CARB EO#D-164-5. I do not see the 5.0L listed.

Hooker headers will work for you setup. The only reason the 5.0 is not listed is because of the stock exhaust size. Once you slap the headers with the ypipe and a new cat/catback it will be perfecto. This is what ive been running here in northern california for 4+ years. Straight pipe in place of the cat at the moment though....

Re: CA Smog Legal headers?

Another nod for Hooker 2055's. I ran hedman smog legal headers for years and never liked the way they fit. Edelbrock are also smog legal but very restrictive

Re: CA Smog Legal headers?

Have Dyno Dons on my L98 w/ AIR tubes (i.e. smog provisions) and they fit fantastic. Also picked up 4 mph in the 1/4.
