I have a set on a car I bought that I'm not going to be using the drivers Y-pipe was damaged by PO they could be repaired with someone with experience on repairing stainless. upper headers look OK but haven'tn't been removed and inspected just wondered what the value would be from what I understand they're rare? I have a NOS set of 4-1 SLPs that I'll be using so hopefully these will find a home
WIW? 50$ more? thanks for your opinion
I'd like to see the reaction if you took them to an instrument shop and asked about having an expert remove the dents from your "turn of the century deluxe Sousaphone".
If it were me, I'd toss them on ebay with a 99 cent starting bid, and a $1,000 reserve and let er buck. Insert whatever insane number you like for the reserve, and you should get a reasonably straight idea of what they might be worth. Be sure to use all the buzz words for maximum visibility, 1LE B4C SLP Firehawk Rare and so on. If the bidding exceeds the redonkulous reserve, you make mad money. It's a win-win.
Agree with Drew.
Annnnd, before you list them, be a good idea to take some better shots of them; looked like a bunch of rusty water pipes that got dug up by a backhoe to me.
GLWS.
rusty pipes? well yeah low grade stainless and its been parked for 14-15 years i did want to show that they're not a cherry set
the one lower is about half as big as it should be
was dug up by backhoe? No, this was in back seat
Very common issue. Build block off plates that seal all the ends with a air fitting in one and put 150psi to them while carefully heating the dented area with a rosebud torch tip. It'll mostly come out

Ha LOL thats funny -only Tony would know - sounds like he speaks from experience he he he
Ok Tony whats a set of beat up Tri-Ys worth?
LOL I was going to make a joke about plugging one end with your big toe, heating the dent with the torch, while blowing hard in the other end, but went with the Sousaphone scenario instead.
Wonder if after a person pushed the dents out, if they could media blast and have them ceramic coated. Usually I wouldn't say it's worth the trouble, but SLP Tri-Ys are a good exception.
Motorcycle shops have to fix dented pipes all the time and that's how they do it! I do think they regulate the air psi though.
eh, maybe 50 bux shipped lol Let me know when you want to send them! haha
a whole 50 big ones well thats probably not far off as someone has to really want them bad to do the work

they're not rusted - from uptop looks OK haven't gotten it up on my lift to look further and pics from top were hard to get at
hope this describes them good enough or you looking for something else?

AIR tubes are the Devil's engine bay obstruction! Step one after abandoning all hope of maintaining the OEM-ness by bolting on headers is to embrace the AIR delete.
