Guess who got the shaft...

Yep, it was me, by this I mean $250.00 to install my Hooker Cat-Back and Universal Cat ! Seven hours of labor ? Aparently, making a 3" to 2.25" reducer takes an hour, and I guess none of the hangers fit so what do we do? Fab new ones of course! And my exhaust near the cat looks like an imprisoned snake because theres like 30 exhaust clamps down there.

I do have to say, however, that the performance can be felt and that it sounds pretty neat. I can still tell it's a 305 (if that's possible to tell by the sound, maybe I need headers). The install was absolutely flawless other than all of the clamps though.

Eh, just another victim of society frowning on youthful exuberance and the need for speed.

Guess I shoulda' got an estimate first ...

Geez I paid $267 parts and labor for my setup (Full catback. They had the I-pipe and Flow80 in stock and made me some tailpipes, and welded it all up all in 45 minutes. Did a top notch job too.)

Hmmm... I paid $400 for new pipes from the engine back, high flow catback, flowmaster muffler, cut and welded chrome tips + warranty... all done in 1 hour...

Guess I didn't get a deal, but the work was top quality and I get free tip replacements every 3 yrs.

that's highway robbery..I paid $50 to get my edelbrock catback installed. I was going to do it myself until I called Meineke and asked them how much and they said $50. It was $50 well spent if you ask me.
